Continuing our theme of recycling we are researching what happens when we visit a modern Dumpit site or Tip or Recycling Centre.
These sites are now recycling friendly & they have labelled skips to show where separated waste can go.
We discussed the places for taking household waste around Scunthorpe & some students knew exactly where these dumpit sites were. We did our research using the websites:

We discussed all the symbols used near the skips to test whether students could decide where the appropriate places were for specific items of waste. See the image below or Click the link below to view the symbols.
What can you take to the Scunthorpe recycling centres?
Students could identify many of the symbols & they said they could take the correct materials to the correct skips with the aid of symbols on the labels.
