Induction consists of a presentation which details:
- Housekeeping
- Ground rules
- Health & safety advice
- Information about the course content
Our initial assessment consists of:
Students completing WEA Initial Assessment documents with support as necessary. We did start the initial assessment documents and we held a group discussion with individual q&a to establish each student's own starting point.
Raw data is held in the tutor's course folder.
As far as possible, students are encouraged to use their own handwriting on initial assessment checklists, but there may be occasions where comments are made by the tutor, or by a key worker or volunteer on behalf of the student.
We have agreed to study the following topics during our current course:
- Recycling
- Healthy Living
These topics were discussed & agreed with students & they will use ICT to research the topics on a variety of websites.
Our findings will help the students & complement their studies with other tutors. They have a workbook to complete with quizzes, puzzles, mini-tests on the subject of recycling/sustainability provided by their venue staff & are keen to explore & collect information online.
